    The mission of the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association is to actively encourage the development of fire and police commissioner leaders and to promote a high level of training and ethical standards of excellence in commission leadership and innovation; educate and train the fire and police commission members regarding the practice of hiring, promotion and discipline; and recognize the achievements of the individual members of the fire and police commissions
